The practical reality is driven by a vision of professional theatre training that is most concerned with the formation of a specific attitude toward the artistic process—a way
favoring knowledge of current affairs and professional practice, within an awareness of our sometimes common, sometimes uncommon cultural heritages. Led by the artistic outlook of a faculty that has gathered together in Blacksburg over a number of years from varied professional backgrounds, the purpose of the program is to prepare students for positions of leadership in the profession.
